Tree of Life UU Congregation Offers Ghoulishly Good Auction

Auctioneer Ron Relic and his assistant Igor--Kaz Kazlusky--scared money out of the pants of bidders at last year's auction

Members of the Tree of Life Unitarian Universalist Congregation, 5603 West Bull Valley Road in McHenry, are planning a Ghoulishly Good Auction on Saturday, November 1 from 7 to 10 pm.
“The frighteningly good auction will be haunted by bargains and offer fun for the whole family,” according to Dave Ayres, Chair of the congregation’s Stewardship Committee.  “We have great offers of personal and business services, meals, get-a-ways, and tickets to theaters and sporting events for sale in the silent auction and valuable items one of a kind offering like hand crafted jewelry, works of decorative and fine art, and other merchandise in the open bid sale.”
The auction will be haunted and hosted by Tree of Life ghouls in costume and bidders are invited and encouraged to join in the spirit of things by coming in costume as well.
While adults are upstairs enjoying their auction, children are invited to take part in an auction just for them.  Every child will be given special money from the Tree Of Life to use for purchase of items bid on.  Children are encouraged to bring one used item in great condition to be auctioned off.  The items can be toys, puzzles, stationary, or books.  Afterwards, there will be snacks, treats and a movie.

Rev. Sean Parker Dennison Zombie.

In addition to the live and silent auction there will be a 50/50 raffle, entertainment, hors d’oeuvres, desserts, and beverages.
There will also be a unique Help Wanted Board on which individuals can post add for a desired personal service from baby sitting and leaf bagging to home repairs or a desired item like a sewing machine or maybe specific books or CDs and an amount they are willing to donate to the church if the add is answered.  At the auction anyone who can provide the service can sign the ad to answer it.
Admission is free to the public.  Costumes are optional.  There is plenty of parking.
