A humble but homey tradition returns this Saturday,
December 9 from 9 am to noon at The Tree of Life Unitarian Universalist
Congregation, 5603 Bull Valley Road
in McHenry. The Holiday
Cookie Walk will help you stock up on home baked Christmas goodies for gift giving, entertaining, or just enjoying with cocoa by the
fire while enjoying some classic seasonal
flick on the tube. And you can brighten your home or work space
with like-new decorations from the take-what-you-need-pay-what-you
can no questions asked Holiday
Decoration Sale.

The Holiday Cookie Walk will feature
room full of home baked goodies—cookies, pies, breads, “You pick
your own selection from tables groaning with delicacies,” according to event coordinator Don Metivier. Creative home bakers and confectioners have
created a tasty array of colorful treats from the traditional to the gourmet. Mix and match your own cookie selection
for $8 a pound with pies, cakes, and
larger items priced individually.

The Holiday Decoration Rummage Sale helps to brighten
your home on a budget. Artificial trees, ornaments, lights, table top items, garlands, wreaths, plates and dishes, and crafts—will
be available. Nothing will be marked
with a price. Take what you need. Pay only what you can afford.
