Walking the Walk—An Action Calendar for McHenry County October 10, 2025

Texas National Guard lands in Illinois. Here's what to know | The Texas Tribune

Texas  National Guard troops arriving at a Kane County Army Reserve Camp for deployment in Chicago and the region.  They could be on the streets, but how and where they will be deployed is unknown.

Look for new opportunities for action, education, community, and solidarity here every week.

Anti-ICE and Military Occupation Protests are occurring daily in Chicago, around the Great Lakes Naval Station from which ICE is deploying, and in suburban and collar county communities with high Latinx population sponsored by various organizations and coalitions.  ICE enforcement activity is well under way and hundreds of victims have been snatched.  Violent attacks on protestors at the Broadview ICE facilities have escalated.  The Texas National Guard has arrived and 300 Illinois troops have been called up but their deployment against the wishes of the Governor has been challenged in court.  Increasingly aggressive use of force against protestors, neighborhoods, and bystanders.  There has been ICE activity in Elgin and other northwest burbs.  So far limited kidnapping in McHenry County.  Check out the McHenry County Rapid Response Team Facebook page for regular alerts.

May be an image of text that says 'PROTEST AGAINST ICE October 11th 11 at 11AM Meet at the Hebron Village Hall'

Hebron Anti-ICE—Meet at the Hebron Village Hall, 12007 Prairie Ave at 11 am and from there we will walk to the corner of Routes 47 and 173.  “I believe in defending those who don't feel or have the ability to speak up for themselves. I want to make sure the members of my community understand/know that there are people behind them fighting for their rights. Please join me to protest against ICE. Hebron is incredibly divided and I want to show those who believe in ICE kidnapping and separating families is NOT ok.”  Parking all over town. stuff to make signs available.  Respond  here.
