Tree of Life UU Congregation’s Rummage and Plant Sale Returns June 1

The Tree of Life Unitarian Universalist Congregation, 5603 Bull Valley Road in McHenry is holding a Rummage and Plant Sale Saturday, June 1, from 9 am to 3 pm.   The Plant Sale will only run through noon.

Ten percent of the sale proceeds will be donated to Compassion for Campers, a Tree of Life ministry providing gear and supplies to the unhoused population of McHenry County.  Compassion for Campers distributes gear on the first and third Fridays of each month at the Community Resource Days at Willow Crystal Lake, 100 S. Main, where a variety of support services and resources are available.

“Spring has brought the usual surge of those in need,” said Patrick Murfin, Tree of Life volunteer.  “Not only do we get new, first-time folks, but many regulars, who found shelter over the winter, need to replace or replenish their gear. There is such a lot of need in our community.”

The Rummage Sale will be set-up flea market style with individual tables that will feature household items, dĂ©cor, accessories, childrens items, and tools.   Clothing will be separate with low, uniform prices.

The Plant Sale will include organic tomato and pepper plants, oak and locust seedlings, perennials, native plants, and house plants.
