Faithbridge Presents the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. Interfaith Prayer Breakfast for McHenry County This Monday

Faithbridge, the organization that promotes mutual understanding and respectful relationships among diverse religious communities to advance understanding of unity and diversity for the common good will host the 13th Annual Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. Interfaith Prayer Breakfast on Monday, January 16 at 7:30 am at the Holiday Inn, 800 South Illinois Rout 31 in Crystal Lake, Illinois. 60014

The Keynote address will be Beyond the Lunch Counter: Health, Wealth and Equity Through an MLK Lens presented by Venoncia M. Bate-Ambrus, Ph.D. who is the Executive Director of the Healthcare Foundation of Northern Lake County.  “Join us for a provocative discussion exploring the relationship between health, wealth, and social justice, guided by the seminal teachings of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King. We will examine the role of historic, systemic, and institutional racism and their impact on the social determinants of health.

The program will also present the Annual Judy Engebretson Humanitarian Award to a person or organization whose actions express Judy’s commitment to peace, justice, compassion, and mutual understanding and the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Service Award acknowledging and encouraging local youth in high school or college who strive to bring about Dr. King’s vision of our Beloved Community through their compassionate actions and strength of character


Local leaders from different religions will offer inclusive and respectful prayers, meditations, and comment.

A vegetarian breakfast buffet will be offered.

Tickets are $25 or $15 for youth can be reserved here
